When we first arrived, a “security guard” was on duty at night and sleeping in our bodega (storage building.) While he was gone one day, I walked inside to see he’d been reading this Bible and devotional and found this scene just as you see it.

It’s election season in Ecuador and we are less than 30 days out from the presidential/national elections. There are no “yard signs” here, but you can spray paint your ad just about anywhere. One candidate for Assembly, or congress, is Jose Felix “el gato” Alcivar. I love his nickname, “The Cat.”
